API FO 'OU COLLEGE UPDATE

It was great to catch up with Peta Tausinga Kennedy yesterday evening. Peta and her family are massive GTEC supporters and can be seen regularly at the games cheering on the teams. Her son Eddie players in the senior side after progressing through the clubs championship winning U20's team back in 2016.

Peta collected two sets of GTEC playing shirts from our Rugby Director Kingy, these will be donated to Api Fo'ou College. Peta just sent in the below and the club is supporting this fantastic initiative to help the College, we are asking the generous GTEC community if you have anything to donate then Peta would love to hear from you. What makes this even more special is that she used to attend the college growing up in Tonga.

If you have items to donate then please contact Peta on peta123_@hotmail.com (See below for more info)

Api Fo'ou College is a Catholic school in Tongatapu the main island of Tonga. It has about 1300 students. This year we had 7 rugby teams from year 7s to the First XV, 8 netball teams and 8 soccer teams.

Some of the best Tongan rugby players went to this school, Ofa Tu’ungafasi and some of his brothers. Shannon Frizell, Folau Fakatava, Solomone Kata etc.

We are looking at shipping a container to Tonga in January next year, we are after anything that can be donated to fill up the container. Any new or used sports equipment, shoes, gears etc will help the students.

We are also after school desks, chairs, books etc. Last year we shipped a container load of desks and chairs donated from Panama Road School.

Thank you again for your help Kingy and GTEC Rugby, much appreciated and it will be put in to good use in Tonga.
